About Joanne
I am currently working as head of English A Level at a large comprehensive school. I have had many years experience. I love literature and love bringing it to life. I have always enjoyed working with people! I have vast experience working with a range of students from all walks of life and am able to adapt my lessons to suit everyone’s needs.
I hope to make tutoring sessions suit your needs and what you hoping to achieve. Each session will start with recapping key skills. I will expose you to lots of different types and styles of wiring and then ask you to lots of practice!
I have experience is tutoring students through their GCSEs and their A - Levels and I can support student with NEA writing too. In addition to this I have experience in working with students from year 7-13.
I am available to come to you or you can come to me. I have a large, quiet space that is perfect for studying. I can even provide online lessons too.
In my spare time I enjoy visiting castles and reading about the people that lived in them!

Perfect! Engaging, patient, conscientious teacher
Jo started tutoring my son in English Literature several months before his GCSEs. He never took the exams due to Covid-19, but he is still having lessons as I write this, just in case he is not happy with the grades he is given. English is not my son's favorite subject, but Jo makes her lessons engaging and has definitely heightened his interest in and grasp of the material. He says that her experience as a school English teacher really shines through and that she is excellent at targeting her teaching to meet his particular needs and on what is required to get good exam results. She is also patient and very conscientious. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
