About Adam

My name is Adam, I am an HND level college student with over 5 years of learning music and violin experience.

I am experienced in performing, and playing pieces up to grade 8 ABRSM and I have the knowledge of music theory up to grade 5 ABRSM, including certain terms and symbols surpassing that level.

I am also a second violinist at Glasgow Symphony Orchestra and by the next year hopefully a conservatoire student.

I'd like to help you learn the violin so you can have fun playing it. It is an extremely difficult instrument, but once you have the knowledge and skill, it is fun like no other, and I'd love to help you get to that stage.

About the lesson

I will teach you the violin and ready you for the exams up to level 5 ABRSM.

The course covers the following: Sight reading, Violin and bow Techniques (the actual playing), Music theory, Posture, info about genres and pieces

I will teach you how to play the violin properly and effectively from ground up, building up your confidence and comfort with the instrument

During every class we will be covering both studies and Pieces.
Studies will introduce you to new techniques, help better them and increase your control over the instrument while pieces will give you the opportunity to learn the actual music; how notes are played, theory, rhythm, phrasing, expression etc.

After each class, I will give you some material to practise at home and we will be reviewing that at the start of each session gradually adding in more and increasing the difficulty.

Student's ideas and suggestions will be encouraged; this could include things like student's favourite genre, a piece they learned or a technique or questions they may have.

The course is perfect for beginners and intermediate players.

In case you don't have your own violin yet, I have a spare one i can bring for you to use during lesson. However it's advisable that you buy your own instrument as that'll allow you to practise the material at your own discretion and boost your progress in result.
