About Makrand
Makrand Sanon is a versatile percussionist and a Performing Artist, who has been privileged to learn a wide range of instruments( starting from tabla, drums to djembe) and musicality throughout his journey, which began not less than 19 years ago, when he was 5. Makrand later trained in Indian Classical music at the Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh for a period of over five years.Followed by learning Electronic Music at A.R. Rahman lead K.M. Music Conservatory, Chennai for a year. Currently he is learning Pakhawaj under Pandit Mohan Shyam Sharma.Makrand is currently experimenting with his sound of music and collaborating with artists from authentic, fresh and unique backgrounds.

Makrand Sanon is a highly skilled percussionist/drummer/rhythmist who has an ear for various interesting sounds - assimilating them to create a masterpiece capable of enthralling the audience.
VISION:
- To make the whole experience of learning music- sharp, holistic and tangible.
- Focusing on not only strengths but weaknesses also, to help one become a fully equipped alchemist that can catch underlying rhythmic patterns/ sounds in the flowing universe and create musical structures.
- That music is not just a mere skill but indeed is the only religion for an artist.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY:
- Imparting new and fun ways of creating/ learning music derived through years of practicing/playing with other musicians ( one of the best in the country and around)
- Making the class holistic, focusing on overall understanding and perception of sound/ structure.
- Most importantly, helping students catch new and improved methods of making their *own* music.
- Preparing students to be skilled musicians themselves to be able to perform and put together their own shows.
- Focusing on different styles of not only learning but also playing different genres of music from all around the world.
- Ear training: lots of "music listening sessions" for analysis/unfolding intricacies in rhythm.
- Providing platform to play with other musicians and learn through perceptive experience.
