About Sean
I'm a 19-year-old gap-year student with an unconditional offer to study Mathematics at the University of Warwick, spending my year preparing for the STEP examinations. I was also a Maths Prefect at school — something that reflects both my passion for the subject and my enjoyment of helping others with it.
Having recently gone through the A-Level process — and the Cambridge admissions process too — everything is still fresh, so I know exactly what students are up against right now. I started tutoring because I wanted to help students avoid the mistakes I made and give them the guidance I wish I'd had.
Maths is a subject where the right support at the right time makes a real difference, and that's what I'm here to provide. Teaching also keeps my own mathematical thinking sharp as I prepare for STEP — so we're both working towards something.

I offer online Maths tuition for GCSE and A-Level students, with lessons of an hour or more tailored to your exam board, whether that's AQA, Edexcel, OCR or otherwise. My approach is about building real understanding rather than just memorising methods. I think that's what actually makes maths click — and once it does, it makes a huge difference to how you tackle questions you haven't seen before. A big part of what I do is helping students develop that problem-solving instinct. I use Desmos, which helps to make things more visual and easier to grasp. Where we start really depends on you. If you're still getting to grips with the content, we'll work through it properly. If you're already fairly confident, we'll get straight into past papers and work on exam technique. I'm also well-placed for university admissions prep. Having gone through the Cambridge interview process myself, I also know what's expected at that level. I can help stronger students prepare for interviews and stretch beyond the A-Level syllabus. I only picked up Further Maths in Year 13 and still came away with an A*, scoring 73/75 on my CP2 paper, so I know how to get on top of difficult material fast, and I'll help you do the same.
