About Jihyeon

I am a very passionate, funny and enthusiastic person in general. I love to meet new people, learn about their cultures and their lives and love to teach either Korean or English. I am currently working as an Assistant Director of Student Services at a University in Boston and work with students every day. I am a firm believer that everyone has potential, and as an educator, my job is to help them see it and bring out the best version of themselves.
I've been teaching Korean for more than five years, and most of my lessons have been focused on communicative and practical side so my students can actually use the language in a daily setting immediately. I usually give more time for my students to practice Korean and ask questions than I speak to them in Korean because I think it's very important to actually use the language when learning a new language.

About the lesson

My lessons are very communicative. I help students learn and practice more practical terminology that they can actually use in daily life. I start with a warm-up such as reviewing what we learned last time or doing word games. During the actual lesson, I use a lot of examples and visual aids to make it easier for my students to learn.
My biggest strengths would be to recognize that everyone has a different learning style and I adapt and create a fun lesson plan for each and every one. I also am very flexible so depending on my students' needs, my lesson can be focused on more formal or informal and conversational style.
My lessons will be very useful for college students or young professionals who would like to learn Korean and possibly do study abroad or move to Korea to live for a while.
