About Nicolas

I’m a composer and sound designer with a Master’s degree in Composition for Film & TV from the University of West London, and a background in Electronic Music Production from Catalyst Berlin. My work has been featured at international venues including Festival de Cannes, Camden People’s Theatre, and The Place London. Beyond composing, I’ve toured Europe with bands like Les Pleureuses and Solly Brown Stone, blending performance with a passion for sonic experimentation. I combine classical, electronic, and experimental approaches to create music that tells stories — and I love helping others find their own musical voice. My teaching is friendly, flexible, and focused on creative discovery as much as technical growth.

About the lesson

I offer one-on-one lessons in film scoring, where we explore how music can support and transform a story. You'll learn how to analyse scenes, write music that enhances emotion, and develop your own compositional voice. We'll cover everything from spotting cues and building harmony to using orchestration, rhythm, and silence to shape narrative. Whether you're a musician transitioning into film, a filmmaker who wants to understand how to work with composers, or a beginner starting from scratch, these lessons are tailored to your level and goals. We’ll work with your preferred DAW (Ableton or Logic), and can even collaborate on scoring real film clips. You'll learn how to connect music and picture in a way that feels authentic, powerful, and creatively fulfilling.
