About Orin

With over 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance, I offer lessons that dive deep into the expressive world of blues guitar. I specialize in slide guitar, open tunings, and fingerpicking techniques that bring out the soul of the instrument. My teaching is rooted in tradition but tailored to your unique playing goals. I’ve worked with students from complete beginners to advanced players aiming to refine their craft. Whether you're just getting started or chasing authentic blues mastery, I provide the tools and guidance to help you grow. My lessons cover a wide range of regional blues styles, including Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont blues. We’ll explore the roots, the rhythms, and the stories that give the blues its timeless voice. I believe in a supportive, motivating environment where you can feel comfortable taking musical risks. Each session is designed to be engaging, personal, and hands-on. We’ll break down techniques, build repertoire, and focus on tone and feel. Most importantly, I help you develop your own voice on the guitar. About the lesson

My teaching approach blends musicianship with real-world guitar skills. I focus not just on how to play, but also how to care for your instrument and shape your tone. Lessons include rhythm, chord transitions, strumming patterns, fingerpicking, and basic theory. I also guide students through guitar maintenance—how to change strings, clean your guitar, and do simple setups for better playability.

We dive into understanding guitar electronics, pickup types, tone controls, and how effects pedals can shape your sound. Whether you're into acoustic vibes or electric textures, I help you make the most of your gear. I work especially well with Campfire Strummers and Worship Leaders, helping them become confident, reliable players both at home and on stage.

Each lesson is practical, clear, and tailored to your level. We’ll explore how to build a strong foundation, develop musical expression, and stay consistent. You’ll learn how to tune by ear, keep your guitar in top shape, and use your setup with purpose. I support every student in becoming not just a player, but a confident performer. With time and focus, you’ll sound like yourself—and that’s the goal.
