About Sarah
I am in my 4th year of my undergraduate degree in Women's and Gender Studies. I have extensive personal and volunteer experience in local LGBTQIA+ communities in Edmonton, Alberta. I am a feminist who loves art and psychology, and so I am working towards certification as a Certified Art Therapist. Following my undergraduate degree, I am going to pursue a Master's in Counselling with a specialization in Art Therapy. I originally was majoring in Psychology, but I decided for my last year of undergraduate studies to switch to a WGS major. I feel my experience in mental healthcare is enough to enter into a Master's in Counselling degree, and that studying WGS is more valuable to my education and field I am deeply passionate about.

My methods as a tutor center around active participation with the material. This involves learning via engaging discussion, relevant videos and other media, active listening, and a large variety of approaches. A typical tutoring session with me always starts with a check-in, where I aim to understand where you are at in the moment and to create a safe environment where you can experience critical feedback without feeling judged as a person. I want you to feel like you can come to me with any questions and be able to talk openly with me so that you can learn without anxiety.
