About Bill
What sets me apart as a tutor: I teach the person, not the subject. I take the time to understand your motivations, frustrations, and learning preferences. I remember what you're passionate about and integrate those topics into our lessons to keep you engaged. My lessons are dynamic and require your active participation, ensuring you are practicing and internalizing the language from minute one.

While each lesson is customized, a typical 60-minute session follows this structure to ensure consistency and maximum progress:
(5 mins) Warm-Up & Review: A casual conversation to get you speaking, followed by a quick review of the previous lesson's key points and addressing any questions you encountered during the week.
(15 mins) Introduction of New Concept: I introduce the day's topic (e.g., a grammar rule, set of vocabulary, pronunciation pattern) using clear examples, short texts, or videos. I check for understanding before we proceed.
(25 mins) Guided & Communicative Practice: This is the core of the lesson. We apply the new concept through interactive activities. This could be: A role-play simulating a job interview or a restaurant conversation, a collaborative writing task, a debate or discussion on a compelling topic, analyzing a short article or video/audio clip.
(10 mins) Feedback & Error Correction: We pause to review your performance. I highlight what you did brilliantly and identify 1-2 key areas for focused improvement, providing tools and techniques to work on them.
(5 mins) Conclusion & Goal Setting: We summarize the key takeaways from the lesson. I then assign a small, practical "action step" or homework to reinforce the learning before our next session.
