About James
I am a 2nd year student at Durham University, studying Maths and Economics. Whilst Maths is one of my strong points, it never came easily to me like it did for some people. Throughout school, everyone seemed to pick things up a lot faster than me. It took me a long time to build my own technique of sounding out the logic in my head so that I could calmly get to the answer. I can relate to those who might initially struggle with maths, and I can walk you through the same process that I went through to improve.

Having tutored for GCSE maths before, my approach to teaching is to spend the majority of the time doing practice questions. I start the lesson by showing you how to answer questions myself, and then help you to try your own questions. We talk about our logic and reasoning out loud, and build up to a point where you can walk yourself through questions in a very logical way by speaking aloud to yourself. A typical lesson would be 45 minutes, giving the right amount of time to optimise your efficient learning.
