About Eduan
Hello! I'm Eduan, a South African-based mathematics educator with 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I began my career at Master Maths, tutoring Mathematics and Physical Science, and I currently work with Tutor Hub, where I have taught in the classroom and continue to tutor Mathematics today. I achieved 78% for Mathematics and 81% for Physical Science in my own NSC exams.
Beyond the numbers, what I care about most is seeing real progress. I've helped students move from the 30-40% range up to 60-70% within a single term, including one Grade 9 student who improved from 50% to 86% between two consecutive terms. Results like these come from genuine understanding, not
shortcuts, and that's what I aim to build in every student I work with.

My approach centres on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. Rather than simply presenting a formula and asking students to apply it, I show where it comes from — this is what makes the learning stick and builds genuine confidence rather than surface-level recall. I teach in English and Afrikaans, and I'm comfortable working across the CAPS, IEB, and Cambridge International (IGCSE & A-Level) curricula.
In a typical lesson, expect a calm, patient, and interactive environment where you're encouraged to ask questions and work through problems actively rather than just watching. I check in frequently to gauge understanding in real time, adjusting pace and explanations to how you personally think, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
My lessons are aimed at students aged 12 to 18, covering everything from foundational algebra through to Matric-level exam preparation. Whether you're building basic confidence or fine-tuning exam technique under pressure, I tailor each session to where you currently are and what you need next.
