My name is Ashley, and I am a professional software engineer with over 12 years of commercial experience in the industry. I hold a degree in Computer Science and have worked across a wide range of projects, including large greenfield applications and team-led engineering initiatives. Throughout my career, I have always had a strong passion for mentoring and teaching. I have supported and guided many junior and mid-level developers, helping them build confidence, strengthen their fundamentals, and grow into capable, independent engineers. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, and I take pride in explaining complex concepts in a clear, practical, and approachable way. I decided to tutor because I know how overwhelming learning to code can feel without the right guidance. My goal is to provide structured, supportive lessons that focus on real understanding rather than memorisation. My Approach My name is Ashley, and I believe in a highly hands-on, practical approach to tutoring. My lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive, with a strong focus on learning by doing. Rather than relying on PowerPoint slides or long theoretical explanations, students actively create and develop small applications throughout each session. Who Are the Lessons For? My lessons are suitable for a wide range of learners, including: - Complete beginners taking their first steps into programming - Junior developers looking to strengthen their foundations and progress their careers - Developers who want to learn a new language, framework, or concept. I tailor each session to the student’s current level, goals, and pace. Experience and Qualifications I have 12 years of commercial experience as a software engineer and hold a degree in Computer Science. Throughout my career, I have worked on multiple greenfield projects and have led and mentored many junior and mid-level developers. I have also overseen projects involving multiple teams, giving me strong experience in both technical delivery and mentorship. Lesson Length Each lesson is 1 hour, structured to maximise hands-on coding time while still covering key concepts clearly and effectively.
