About Shirley
Curiosity drives the exploration of tone production and spiccato bowing technique. Imagine the sound of a perfectly tuned string vibrating under your fingertips. My sessions begin with a diagnostic assessment to map your unique technical needs.
This process allows me to integrate your specific goals for ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep into the practice plan. I draw upon my formal degree and extensive performance background to break down challenging staccato passages into manageable segments. Teens and advanced learners often seek a clearer path forward. My teaching is methodical. I spent 13 years performing folk and classical music across Canada. My methodology centers on neurodivergent-affirming practices.
I hold a Bachelor of Music from Humber College and RCM Grade 10 credentials. My focus covers orchestral playing and precise bowing technique.
