About Kevin
Thanks for taking a look at what I have to offer.
I have had a passion for piano since I was about 6 years old. Starting lessons at 8, I learned Royal Conservatory and quickly went through exams finishing with Grade 8 Royal Conservatory with First Honours.
Through High School I was the pianist in our school's jazz band and Music and Repertoire Class learning about big band, bebop and many Jazz standards like those from Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and many others.
Continually performing for recitals and performances at schools and social events, I enjoy listening and playing the piano, and hope to teach others this wonderful art.

First, we do a discovery meeting. What are you hoping to learn? Classical, or Jazz or BOTH?
It's essential to understand all parts of piano. Once technique and music theory is established, playing becomes easy and fun :)
Here's what a 1 hour lesson may look like!
(50%) Technique; Scales, and Arpeggios, 4-note chords, etc.
(30%) Repertoire: Playing music, practicing sections where there is difficulty.
(20%) Music Theory: Reading notes, basic harmony, listening tests ("Perfection Ear")
(4) Afterwards, I write down the homework for next week, and approximate hours of practice.
