About Cynthia
Intonation often feels like an impossible hurdle for many students early on. I admit that even I struggled with pitch clarity when I first picked up the instrument as a 7-year-old. Addressing these challenges requires careful attention to tone production and left-hand agility.
Rhythm and timing serve as the pulse of any performance. Students gain access to RCM syllabus materials and orchestral playing techniques. We break down complex scales and arpeggios into manageable segments.
Ear training remains a priority for every classical repertoire piece we select. I choose to focus on the process over the final performance outcome.

Completing a degree at Humber gave me a perspective that contradicts the usual academic focus on rote memorization. I found that rigor serves as the foundation for true artistic freedom. Over 13 years of experience has refined my ability to guide absolute beginners alongside advanced learners. Working with hundreds of students requires a balance of patience and technical precision.
My path from conservatory training to the stage informs every interaction I have today. I maintain a standard of excellence inherited from my time with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. Excellence remains the only path forward.
