About Charotay
You will eventually stop fighting your own hands. Mastery requires 13 years of perspective on chord transitions and scales. The best players treat music theory like a playground rather than a chore.
I work with advanced learners, hobbyists, and those self-taught players who feel stuck in a loop. We focus on electric technique and the mechanics of fingerpicking to clean up your sound. Folk clubs smell like stale beer and old wood. I spent 11 years hauling gear through the Montreal scene before realizing I preferred the classroom to the stage. My Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and BM Guitar degree provided the structure I lacked as a youth. I have since helped 207 students move past their own plateaus.
13 years of experience taught me that every player hits a wall eventually. I provide the blueprints to climb over it. You can expect a direct and honest assessment of your progress every single time we meet.
