About Charlotte
Blues progressions, electric technique, and intricate fingerpicking are central to the way I teach. I have taught 183 students over the course of 9 years in this industry. My BFA Music Industry degree informs the technical side of my instruction while my touring life provides the practical edge.
Helping kids, absolute beginners, and intermediate players find their unique sound is why I enjoy this work so much. We look at everything from basic acoustic technique to advanced improvisation and soloing. Understanding how to maintain your instrument and tune it properly is just as vital as knowing how to play a lead part. Admitting that holding a pick felt awkward at first is how most of our sessions begin. I remember those early stages of learning electric technique and grade exam prep quite clearly.
We will spend time on ear training and reading sheet music to ensure your foundation is solid for the long term. If you are an intermediate learner, we can jump right into complex improvisation or specific blues progressions.
My goal is to make sure you feel capable of handling your own gear and maintenance by the end of our time. It is important to me that you feel comfortable asking questions about any part of the process.
I draw on my 9 years of experience to help kids and adults alike move past common plateaus. Watching you hit that first clean chord is usually the highlight of my week. Let us get your hands moving and your sound dialed in for the goals you want to reach.
