About Sophia
Feedback happens fast. I watch your hands closely to spot tension before it becomes a habit. We start with basic acoustic technique or jump straight into blues progressions if that suits your current interest.
You will learn how to read sheet music properly without the usual boredom. My 13 years of gigging mean I can explain improvisation and soloing in ways that make sense. We use ear training to help you figure out songs by yourself.
Tuning and maintenance are covered early so your gear stays reliable. Grade exam prep is available if you want to track your progress. We might even look at some electric technique or fingerpicking styles. Just keep practicing until next time.

Absolute beginners often think the guitar is harder than it looks. You might find that the instrument fights back at first. I have taught 194 students over my 13 years in the music business. Kids and hobbyists seem to enjoy my loose style of instruction.
I keep things structured beneath the jokes to ensure you actually improve. My background is built on the Montreal folk scene and the chanson circuit. Reach out if you want to start playing.
