About Laurie
I have 30+ years of experience in the Ontario education system as a mathematics and science teacher. Also, I have always been involved with music since I was a child - piano, guitar and violin. Then, 12 years ago my passion was ignited by a little yellow ukulele. There was no turning back - I attended jams and workshops all over Canada to hone my ukulele skills. I established the Sunshine Ukulele Network (a monthly in person jam session) and 4 years ago began teaching ukulele classes with the City of Orillia.

Your lesson will be completely individualized to you - you decide what music you would like to play and what you want to accomplish on the ukulele. If you are a beginner, I'll quickly get you strumming to your favourite songs. If you already know some chords, I will help you develop your ukulele chops with finger-picking, melody work, new keys, barre chords and transposing songs. I always work to develop your musicality. I would love to introduce you to the joy of playing ukulele!
