About Alex

I am a 20 year old undergrad from Toronto. I moved to Vancouver in 2020 to study economics at UBC. In my first two years I found myself increasingly curious about math and decided to change majors. I am now in my 3rd year, majoring in mathematics with a minor in economics. I've been informally tutoring calculus since my 2nd year and currently peer tutor number theory with the UBC centre for accessibility. I have lots of experience with calculus, trigonometry, geometry and probability but I especially excel in algebra, arithmetic and logic as these are my favourites to study and teach.

About the lesson

I help students understand math concepts by presenting them several intuitive ways to develop a deeper understanding of the topic. From my experience I believe everyone is capable of understanding mathematics and often just need a new perspective to see what it is they are learning. I have strong intuition for all grade school math concepts and some university level and love seeing it develop in others.
