About Tayler

Hi! My name is Tayler, and I am an enthusiastic educator dedicated to helping elementary and middle school students build confidence, foster curiosity, and achieve their academic goals. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science, and I am currently completing my After-Degree in Education at the University of Lethbridge.

Because of my background, I specialize heavily in K-5 literacy (phonics, reading comprehension, and writing) and Social Studies, while offering well-rounded support across math and science.

Beyond academics, mentorship is a massive part of my life. I am the vice president of the Lethbridge Children's Learn to Skate Association and have been coaching skating both professionally and as a volunteer for 14 years. Whether on the ice or in the classroom, I excel at motivating young learners, breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, and keeping energy levels high and focused.

I firmly believe that an effective classroom or tutoring session is rooted in a powerful partnership between the educator, the student, and the family. Every child can learn when given the right tools, consistent boundaries, and a safe environment for growth.

When working with your child, my priority is to:
- Encourage Intellectual Risks: I create a supportive space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and view those mistakes as an essential part of the journey toward mastery.
- Tailor Lessons to the Individual: I get to know each student’s unique prior knowledge, interests, and learning style so our sessions feel engaging rather than repetitive.
- Bring Real-World Experience: I have practical, hands-on experience designing and executing lessons across multiple grade levels, including dedicated placements in Grade 1/2 and Grade 4/5 classrooms.

I lead by example, learning alongside my students with mutual respect and a deep commitment to celebrating their unique strengths. I look forward to keeping learning fun, encouraging, and highly rewarding for your child this season!
