About Christina

Hello! I’m a native Korean passionate about helping students in Singapore learn real, authentic Korean that goes far beyond textbook phrases. Back in Korea, I’ve taught Korean to foreign learners from beginner to intermediate levels, and I especially enjoy helping students develop strong, natural conversation skills so they can express themselves confidently in everyday situations. I believe language learning should feel practical, encouraging, and culturally rich. That’s why my lessons focus on real-life Korean, especially how we actually speak in Korea, combined with clear explanations, guided speaking practice, and plenty of personalized support. Teaching Korean is meaningful to me because I love seeing students gain the confidence to hold their first conversation, understand their first K-drama scene without subtitles, or finally speak Korean during a trip to Seoul. Helping people connect with Korean culture and build real communication skills is what motivates me every day. I also take professionalism seriously. My lessons are well prepared, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals; whether you're starting from scratch, improving pronunciation, preparing for travel, or wanting to sound more natural when speaking. Teaching Method & Techniques - I focus on authentic Korean: the way native Korean people actually speak in daily life, not stiff textbook sentences. - My lessons blend: Conversational practice (natural phrases, slang, intonation, everyday dialogues), Structured grammar explanations made simple and beginner-friendly, Real-life examples from Korean media, K-culture, social situations, Pronunciation training so students sound confident and natural, Interactive exercises like roleplay, mini-dialogues, and vocabulary building games. - My goal is to help you speak Korean comfortably, understand tone and nuance, and build confidence quickly. Typical Lesson Length - Most lessons are 60 minutes, with options for 90 minutes for students who want extra speaking practice or faster progress. Qualifications & Teaching Experience - Native Korean speaker from South Korea, also fluent in English - SNU (Seoul National University) undergraduate student - NUS (National Univ. of Singapore) exchange experience - Experience teaching beginner to intermediate Korean to foreign learners - Special focus on conversation skills, natural expressions, and real-life Korean - Familiar with helping English speakers understand Korean grammar in an intuitive way (from experience in helping foreigner students learn Korean back in SNU) - I also customize lessons for each student’s goals — travel, TOPIK prep, K-drama listening skills, or natural speaking. Who My Lessons Are For My classes are designed for: - Absolute beginners who want a strong foundation - Lower-intermediate learners wanting to improve speaking and listening - Young adults and working adults (ages ~13 to 50+) - Anyone who wants to speak Korean confidently, not just memorize grammar
