About Phillip
I've been working as a freelance Graphic Designer for a little over 5 years now, since I graduated with first class honours in London in 2019. My two unique selling points as a freelancer have been custom type design (I have designed fonts as personal projects and for clients) and motion design - which is what I primarily work in now. Animated graphics that are able to loop seamlessly in an almost hypnotic way are my preference. There's a lot you can do with a graphic to push the limit of legibility without losing it completely, and this extreme is where the most interesting and beautiful pieces of design are made.

Motion Design is a fantastic skill to have as a Graphic Designer. In my work I am always creating compositions of typography with motion - whether the motion is some decoration that complements the typography, or the type itself is animated in an engaging way. We can build on your existing abilities as a Graphic Designer to unlock this eye-catching skill. If you don't have a particular project requirement then I will happily set briefs and practice projects, guiding you through my processes. We can also work together to achieve similar results to examples you may have already seen and been inspired by. I use Adobe After Effects for Motion Design, and Illustrator & Photoshop for still Graphic Design. Lessons can be 45 minutes to 1 hour, and are ideal for people with some experience in Graphic Design either from University or self-taught. An understanding of principles of motion/video editing is a bonus but not required!
