About Greta
I tutored students in languages, helped with study methods and I've been quite the critic for proofreading essays (and I'm definitely funny). I always enjoyed teaching, being it for my cousin struggling with English classes or being it with the students I followed between 2020-2022, helping them throughout middle school and high school. Finally, in summer 2024 I worked for Education First teaching international students in London (if that can help). It was very satisfying to be helpful and to see the results they achieved. Sometimes, all you need is someone to guide you. I just graduated from the University of Edinburgh and would like to stay in the academic field for a while, as I intend to keep teaching, learning, and possibly writing. I studied tourism in high school (Italy) and then moved to England for my undergrad in International Relations and Diplomacy, ending up in Edinburgh for my Master's in Criminology and International Security. Sometimes I wake up and I know I want to keep pursuing this path, sometimes I think about Vogue and National Geographic, and other times I forget about plan A and go straight for plan B: a nice farm near a beach in Liguria. Overall, I am decisive. Sometimes. But I do have a wide range of good examples, I'm not bad at tutoring.

Basing on what are your expectations, I can tailor different lessons and methods. If the necessity is just to learn a language, maybe for a holiday, to impress someone or just because you want to learn a romantic and very descriptive language, then it's all about basics and a lot of speaking. Unless you want to become a writer, knowing how to ask for a glass of water with your coffee is way more useful. I prepare each lesson with different topics, verbs in Italian are very hard to remember but we'd go through the ones that are mostly used, leaving Congiuntivo for when the basics are learnt. You guys really need to know about Congiuntivo, not even Italians know that—... and it's not good. Also, I know you know curse words. I can teach you nicer ones that won't give you a medal in Veneto, but could make you sound like a human being.
