About Samantha
Hi! My name is Samantha, and I’m currently a student at Vanderbilt University with several years of tutoring and mentoring experience working with students of different ages and learning styles. I’ve always learned best by asking questions and talking through concepts step-by-step, so I try to create that same comfortable and interactive environment for my students. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need and work hard to make sure they fully understand the material instead of just memorizing it. I also believe every student learns differently, which is why I enjoy teaching concepts using multiple strategies and explanations until we find the approach that works best for them. In particular, I view math as creative problem solving rather than just finding one correct answer, and I love helping students see that there are often multiple ways to approach and understand a problem. Whether a student needs homework help, test prep, or long-term academic support, I aim to make learning less stressful, more engaging, and more confidence-building. I’m patient, supportive, and committed to helping students feel capable and successful both inside and outside the classroom.
