About Hannah
I am an Education major at Calvin University, who is passionate about helping children reach their potential through compassion and hard work. I believe that every student can achieve their goals with the right mindset and determination.
I enjoy building a connection and trust with the student, and then seeing the "ah ha" moments in the students' faces when they finally understand something that they have been struggling with. I enjoy helping students reach their highest potential, and really getting to know the student and how they learn best.
I am working on my Education degree right now, and have just taken a math education course to learn how to teach math.

First, I will ask some questions to get to know the student, such as what they like to do for fun, to what they think about math as a subject, and what they want to work on. I think it is important to make sure the student is comfortable with me, and can trust me. From there, we might take a look at some problems they are having a hard time with, and I will ask a lot of questions to understand where they are at with the problem and what we need to work on. It is important that the student have a conceptual understanding with the math problems instead of just a procedural understanding.
