About Lauren

As a 4th year medical student, I matched into residency this past March. I currently tutor other medical students in OMM (osteopathic manipulative medicine), but have experience tutoring students in all medical coursework. I also have experience in mentoring pre-medical students applying for admission to medical school.

I went to Bergen County Academies (a magnet high school) in Bergen County, NJ for high school and earned a spot in the National Honor Society. (Fun fact: I studied computer science and was Cisco certified back then).

In college, I studied Business Administration. I completed my degree in 3 years and earned a spot in Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honor Society.

After college, I worked full time in Corporate America while pursuing my EMT certification, scribing for an emergency department, and completing my pre-medical coursework.

I still work and volunteer as an EMT in my free time. Besides tutoring math and science, I can also help in the admissions process for college and medical school. I am serious about education and truly enjoy teaching. I am looking forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I tailor each lesson to the individual student - based on age, grade level, and goals. At the beginning of the hour, we will talk quickly about your goals and timeline (a class exam tomorrow vs. a board exam in 3 months). Then we will jump straight into learning.
I will ask you what you perceive to be your areas of opportunity in the subject (aka what you are uncertain about and want to focus on/get stronger in) then focus on those topics with working through questions.
From here, I will go over important foundational concepts that will help solidify what we go over during the session, so you can build upon your knowledge and gain a better understanding of the topics.
I am available to teach any mathematics course from kindergarten through calculus I, and any science course from kindergarten through medical school (including pre-medical coursework), as well as test preparation.
As a recently "matched" 4th year medical student who has experience tutoring all ages from kindergarten to 4th year medical students, I am confident I can help you reach your learning goals!
