I teach primarily classical piano and music theory. During a typical lesson we will explore technical patterns to promote coordination and dexterity, learn to play melodies and harmonies by ear, and build your music reading skills. Motivation is key, so I work hard to help students find music they love and adapt it to their level of ability. Lessons are available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. I also specialize in technique analysis and training for advanced pianists experiencing muscle pain or tendinitis. I draw on my kinesiology training and my knowledge as a Feldenkrais Practitioner to help students attain healthy and virtuosic piano technique.
I am a university educated pianist with a Bachelor's degree in piano performance and composition and a Masters Degree in Piano Pedagogy. My first passion is teaching music, and I have fourteen years of experience teaching students of all ages. I am also a doctoral candidate in Kinesiology researching musician injury prevention.
