About Bushra

I am currently studying Accounting and Finance at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). While my degree is heavily focused on mathematics, I have also experienced my own academic struggles, which is one of the reasons I am passionate about helping others learn.

When I was in Grade 4, I struggled in school and even failed some of my subjects. Instead of letting that define me, I worked hard to improve. I explored different study methods, used available resources, and learned to recognize my weaknesses so I could turn them into strengths. Over time, my grades improved from failing to consistently earning Bs and As.

I have worked with students in elementary, middle school, and high school, and I have seen how much progress they can make with the right support. Through practice, clear explanations, and understanding the reasoning behind formulas, they became more confident and were able to solve problems on their own. I believe that math is a skill that grows with consistent practice—even solving a few questions each day can make a big difference.

That experience taught me that every student has their own strengths and challenges. I understand how discouraging learning can feel at times, which is why I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills but also to build their confidence. I will always do my best to support my students and help them reach their full potential.

About the lesson

I believe that everyone learns differently. Through leadership, I have learned that everyone may have the same goal, but they each navigate that destination differently using their own skills, wisdom, and tools. Some people are visual learners, some are auditory, reading/writing, or hands-on learners, and many are a combination of these. I always keep this in mind because I believe the best way to learn is by understanding how you learn and using that to your best ability.

My lesson plans are flexible rather than following a strict routine. I do my best to understand what helps each student grasp information and apply it with confidence. Since these lessons focus on algebra, there will be plenty of practice questions that I will guide you through. As your tutor, my role is to help you learn and improve—not to grade you. I will also provide notes and explain different methods for solving questions so that you understand not just how to solve them, but why the methods work.

What sets me apart is my patience and my focus on making sure students truly understand the material. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need because I believe it is better than being confused. My goal is to help build confidence while making math feel less overwhelming.
These lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students who want to strengthen their algebra skills, whether they need extra support with schoolwork, want to prepare for tests, or simply want to build a stronger foundation in math.
