About Luke

Hi! I'm Luke!

I am a working professional actor originally from Leeds in West Yorkshire. I moved to London when I was 19 to train at ArtsEd in Chiswick for a 3 year musical Theatre degree course. I Graduated in 2010 and have been working in the industry ever since. so that gives me 14 years of experience in which I would love to pass on and guide you to the best of my ability.

The great thing about my career so far is that I have had quite a varied one. starting out understudying and being in the ensemble, I learned so much from more experienced actors and then about 6 years into my career I decided that I wanted to make the move into playing parts, which was a huge leap because I had to prove that I could actually sustain the demands of a show, but also I was up against other actors who were far more experienced than I was so i had to up my game.

I was lucky enough to have had jobs in plays, where have been offstage understudy, to swinging, to originating Lead roles from page to stage. which is honestly one of the most rewarding feelings ever.During the pandemic, self tapes became the norm, so I made sure to up my game again and invest in better gear and be ahead of the curve to give myserlf the best chance possible. I then landed a huge TV job in Masters of the Air for APPLE TV during the pandemic so the hard work definitely paid off and got to hang out with Barry Keoghan and Austin Butler for a solid 8 months, so as you can imagine I learned so much. from the etiquette of being on set, how to cheat the lense, and how to learn lines... fast. and give it colour.

I am currently on the UK tour of 'An officer and a Gentleman' playing the lead role of Zack Mayo, who was made famous by Richard Gere in the 1982 movie. and in the past, I created the Role of Dean in everybody's talking about Jamie at the crucible theatre in Sheffield and then transfered that to the West end.

another dream role of mine was to play Tony in Billy Elliot, which I did at Leicester curve in 2022...

About the lesson

I work with actors on self-tape and in-person auditions and help to improve skills for both the stage and the screen. As a working actor currently on a UK Tour, I can bring real-time relevant experience to my students.

What I have learned so far in my career is that every job and every audition is unique, however, you should bring a piece of yourself into every role. For example; YOUR body is YOUR body and YOUR voice is your own too. So you have to use that to your advantage. Embodying a character and knowing who they are gives you a huge advantage when dissecting a script. Your grasp of the character's objectives, inner thoughts, and responses is evident.

I tailor each acting student's session to their specific needs.

Just like a bird needs to spread its wings and soar high in the sky to experience the thrill of flight, I encourage you to take a leap of faith, be bold, and fully immerse yourself in the industry. Don't just stay at the surface level; explore the depths and discover the true potential of your abilities. Courage will propel you forward, and I aim to foster that by providing a secure and encouraging environment for exploration.

*Professional actor sessions where we can look at what you're currently working on and find new ideas within the script

*acting through Song workshop - musical theatre or pop songs with backing tracks provided by you, for audition and performances.

*Public speaking, communication & confidence coaching in all areas. Where we work through your breath work, projection, and diction to bring your speech to a new level of confidence.
