About Archie

Hi, I’m Archie, owner of ADiVS Tutoring with years of tutoring experience. I started ADiVS Tutoring because I know how frustrating it can be to struggle in class without the right help.

I’m not your tutor, I’m the person who finds you your tutor. I personally match each student with a tutor who fits their subject needs, learning style, and schedule. Whether you need help with math, CS, science, writing, or anything else, I’ve built a network of tutors who are smart, passionate, and easy to work with.

Working with me means no generic pairings or one-size-fits-all sessions. It’s flexible, remote, and all about what you need to thrive. I make sure your tutor’s job is to teach — and mine is to make sure you get the right one.

About the lesson

The problem we solve: your can define a for loop and still stare at a blank screen for forty minutes. That gap between knowing the concept and producing working code is what our sessions are built to close.

How a typical hour runs: A few minutes on what's due, what's confusing, and what grade we're trying to move About thirty minutes on the student's actual assignment or a close parallel problem, with the tutor prompting rather than typing for them A short problem the student solves independently, so we both find out whether it stuck. One specific thing to practice before the next session.

We don't do homework for students. We teach them to read error messages instead of panicking at them, trace what a program is doing line by line, and debug on their own — the skill that carries into every class after this one.

For AP Computer Science A, we work backwards from the exam: FRQ format, the narrow subset of Java the exam actually tests, and the specific mistakes that quietly cost points.
