About Michael

My name is Michael, and I’ve been drumming since I was about 9 years old. Throughout high school, I immersed myself in music, participating in nearly every extracurricular activity related to it, with a particular focus on jazz drumming. Now a senior, I’m excited to pursue my passion further at Berklee College of Music in Boston next year. My favorite styles to play include funk, jazz, fusion, and other intricate, sophisticated genres that challenge and inspire me.

About the lesson

As a drum tutor, I prioritize creating a supportive and engaging environment tailored to each student’s unique goals and learning style. My teaching method combines technical skill-building with creative exploration. I focus on fundamentals like timing, technique, and rhythm while encouraging students to express themselves musically.

A typical lesson includes a warm-up, targeted exercises for skill development, and practice of songs or grooves the student loves. I also incorporate music theory and ear training to enhance their overall musicianship.

What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex rhythms into simple, manageable steps and my emphasis on fostering confidence. My lessons are designed for all skill levels, from beginners eager to start drumming to advanced players looking to refine their technique or expand their repertoire.

My approach ensures every student can develop at their own pace, whether they're preparing for performances, auditions, or simply playing for fun.
