About Mark
In my 30 years of being a teacher, I have also been a performer in many settings. I have been in touring rock groups in NYC, I was the Organist for the Colorado Avalanche (NHL), I have worked with record producers who have produced Joan Osborn and Cindy Lauper, recorded Gypsy jazz music with one of my projects from Colorado, accompanied vocal jazz groups, singers, classical chamber music, big bands, been a member of punk bands, rock orchestras, and the list continues.
I have taken lessons from the best teachers which I have searched out and I am a product of their expert tutelage. They range from Juilliard trained piano teachers to the best shredder guitarists in the east coast, to composition lesson and orchestration lessons online from teachers all around the world.

My students range from 3-92 years old with completely different personalities, backgrounds, and experience levels ranging from complete novice to playing Liszt.
I enjoy learning how to teach every person completely differently, because we all learn differently. There is no “one size fits all” method that I have learned and I have studied many methods of music education from Orff to Suzuki. When teaching in public schools, you have students that are talented and gifted, some in the middle, and others falling behind. You have to juggle all of these students in the same classroom. This skill is much easier with one-on-one lessons.
