As a family member I know Thomas to be very personable, friendly and approachable. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and is able to convey the subject matter in a clear and structured way. He is also very patient and mindful of difficulties some students may face in understanding the subject and I know he is committed to making every lesson interesting and confidence boosting. He also takes time to fully prepare his lessons to suit the needs of the individual student and to encourage enjoyment of the subject as well as understanding.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Tom for the past 6 years. Beyond being a very kind and generous person, Tom is an extremely talented scientist and supervisor. Tom assisted in supervising my Master’s thesis, as well as multiple other students, at the University of Edinburgh. He did a fantastic job in guiding and helping me through the complexities of the thesis. I was extremely grateful for his expertise and skill of explaining difficult concepts in a clear and easy to understand way.
