About Charoly
Teaching piano remains my primary way to engage with music theory and physical precision. 13 years of practice have taught me that clear communication produces the best results.
My training at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music gives me the technical rigor required for this work. I have coached countless students from beginners to advanced exam candidates. I maintain a strictly objective view of progress because I value clarity over vague encouragement. My approach covers jazz improvisation, scales, arpeggios, dynamics, expression, sight reading, pop, contemporary styles, and pedaling technique.
I treat these elements as a logical system to be mastered. My pedagogical style is direct and honest.

You sit down at the bench and we immediately begin with a diagnostic playing assessment to establish your baseline. This allows me to see exactly where your technique requires correction without wasting time. After 13 years of teaching, I know that identifying physical tension is the first step toward better sound production. We will work through your repertoire with a focus on structural analysis.
I provide adjustments to your hand position and touch. Then we address the nuance of your dynamics. We refine your rhythmic phrasing. We stabilize your tempo.
You will leave with a clear set of tasks for the week. The focus remains on the music.
