About Harry
I’m an MPhys Astrophysics student at the University of Liverpool, with a strong academic background in physics and mathematics and a genuine passion for helping others understand the subject.
My teaching style is relaxed, laidback, and conversational. I know from experience that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and thinking things through without pressure, so I focus on creating an environment where you can do exactly that. No judgement, no rushing — just clear explanations, steady progress, and building confidence step by step.
At the same time, I take tutoring seriously. I’m reliable, well-prepared, and focused on making sure every session has a clear purpose. I adapt to each student’s needs, whether that’s breaking down difficult concepts, reinforcing fundamentals, or sharpening exam technique.
Because I’m currently studying physics at a high level, I’m constantly working with the same concepts you’re learning — just in more depth. That means I can explain things in a way that’s both technically accurate and easy to understand, bridging the gap between classroom teaching and real understanding.
If you’re looking for someone approachable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping you improve, you’ll find my lessons both effective and easy to engage with.

My lessons are designed with one clear goal in mind: maximising your exam performance.
Rather than just re-teaching content, I take a heuristic, exam-focused approach. That means we work directly with past papers, mark schemes, and real exam-style questions to understand how marks are actually awarded. I’ll show you how to break down questions, recognise patterns, and apply the exact techniques examiners are looking for — the kind of skills that can realistically push you up one or two grade boundaries.
Many students know the content but struggle to translate that into marks. That’s where I focus: turning understanding into consistent, high-scoring answers under exam conditions.
I’m currently studying MPhys Astrophysics at the University of Liverpool, with a strong background in physics and mathematics. My academic work involves advanced problem-solving, data analysis, and applying theory to real-world scenarios — all of which directly inform how I teach. I’ve also built and worked with complex models and exam-level problems, so I understand both the theory and the exam technique at a high level.
In our sessions, you can expect:
- A strong focus on past exam questions and mark schemes
- Clear strategies for structuring answers to gain full marks
- Targeted practice on your weakest areas
- Guidance on common mistakes and how to avoid them
- A supportive but driven environment focused on real improvement
If you’re aiming to move from a B to an A, or an A to an A*, my approach is built to get you there efficiently and confidently. Also completely happy to tailor lessons to your needs and preferences.

I’m consistently impressed by his intelligence, work ethic and genuine passion for physics and maths, which extends far beyond his degree. He is extremely skilled at explaining different aspects of the subject in a clear yet engaging way, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him as a tutor.
