About Kellie
I'm a 27 year old astrophysics PhD student at the University of Nottingham.
I achieved A*s and As in Maths and Physics at GCSE and A Level, and achieved a 1st Class Honours in a Mathematical Physics integrated Master's degree from the University of Nottingham.
My friends, colleagues and students would all describe me as friendly, patient, and enthusiastic. I truly love the subject that I study and it comes across in my teaching. I have always had a great love for maths and astronomy, and I'm keen to help others so that they might also feel the same one day!

I started tutoring Maths and Further Maths during my undergraduate degree and have helped students achieve higher than predicted grades at GCSE and A Level. Since the start of my PhD I have also done a huge amount of outreach in order to teach and inspire younger generations about astronomy.
I believe the best approach to tutoring is to identify the root of the difficulty in each topic, and to build the required knowledge from the ground up. A strong foundation is required in any subject to be able to progress further, so I focus on ensuring this is covered so that the student comfortably understands every step of the process. I am patient and try to explain all concepts in a way that makes the most sense to the student, checking with them all the time that they understand the methodology being used.
I am happy to tutor Maths at any level, and Further Maths and Astronomy from GCSE up as these are when these subjects are introduced at curriculum level. I'm also happy to have lessons between lengths of 1-2 hours, and my lesson content focuses on the curriculum, and exam board if relevant, of the student's education. I will focus primarily on the areas that the student is struggling with the most, and will set homework to ensure that the student is progressing.
Recommendations

Kellie is a very enthusiastic and knowledgable person. I have worked with her in the past to deliver astronomy sessions in schools and can highly recommend her as a tutor. She is able to explain difficult topics in an understandable and clear manner and has a very approachable attitude. She prepares the lessons well and is able to adapt them to the students level of knowledge easily.
I have worked with Kellie on a number of large outreach projects where we teach primary school children, some whom may not have any knowledge of space, about astronomy. Kellie has always been an amazing educator, she has a deep knowledge of the subject she loves and will convey this with the enthusiasm and empathy needed to teach anyone and everyone.
I know Kellie from our time as PhD students together.
Kellie is incredibly friendly and easy to get along with. She has always been involved with teaching others and sharing her passions through a wide variety of outreach schemes she has participated in and led.
I have had many discussions with Kellie where she has willingly shared her knowledge and helped me to understand complex problems, always with a smile on her face.
I wholeheartedly recommend Kellie to anyone looking for a tutor; you won't find a smarter, friendlier, or more approachable tutor anywhere else!Throughout university Kellie has been an excellent support through her vast knowledge of advanced topics and her ability to explain them in such simple ways, helping me achieve all of my targets. I couldn’t recommend her more!
Kellie is a calm, patient tutor who explains processes in a clear and logical manner. She has a very strong mathematical background and will explain why, not just how. I strongly recommend her as a maths tutor.
