About Jacqueline

As a dedicated Bachelor of Science student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Melbourne, I bring a strong academic foundation and a passion for education to my tutoring role. With a WAM of 80+ and top-ranking performances in challenging subjects like Signal and Systems, Electrical Network Analysis, and Electrical System Implementation, I have developed a deep understanding of the concepts that are fundamental to excelling in mathematics, physics, and engineering.

My experience as a Student Representative for Signals and Systems has honed my communication and leadership skills, allowing me to effectively bridge the gap between faculty and students. Additionally, my hands-on project experience, including designing an Arduino-powered smart pill organizer and developing FPGA-based timing systems, showcases my ability to break down complex problems into simple, logical steps—an approach I carry into my tutoring sessions.

I believe in fostering critical thinking and encouraging students to independently solve problems, consulting with me to refine their understanding. My technical expertise in software tools like MATLAB, LTspice, and C programming, combined with my strong analytical background, equips me to guide students through both theoretical and practical challenges.

Fluent in both English and Chinese, I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and build confidence in their abilities.

• I guide students in developing logical and analytical thinking to deeply understand the fundamental concepts of mathematics and physics, which are crucial for thriving in these subjects. My goal is not just to help students solve problems but also to equip them with the tools and mindset needed to approach complex topics confidently and independently.
• I structure my lessons by first addressing any immediate or pressing issues students face, ensuring they feel supported with their most urgent challenges. Once resolved, we align our focus with their school’s curriculum, reinforcing and extending their understanding of current topics. This dual approach ensures they remain on track academically while strengthening their problem-solving skills.
• I strongly encourage students to practice regularly outside of lessons, tackling as many questions as possible to uncover gaps in understanding. These self-identified challenges are then brought to our sessions, where I provide tailored guidance and strategies to address their specific needs.
• Leveraging my experience, I help students efficiently navigate their workload by identifying the most critical and impactful questions to focus on. This targeted approach not only saves time but also ensures they build confidence and mastery in the areas that matter most. Additionally, I provide tips and strategies for effective study and time management, empowering students to achieve their academic goals.
