About Queena
ABOUT ME:
As a second generation migrant to the UK, I moved to the UK at a young age not speaking a word of English. Feeling confused and let down by the education system, I struggled socially and academically to decipher what to me seemed like funny shapes and weird sounds. Looking back, it was the drive and kindness of my teachers and mentors that led me to believe that I could succeed in anything I put my heart and mind to despite my initial setback. And that I did. It didn't come with hours of study and endless sleepless nights burning the midnight oil, it came with a newfound passion and fire to learn and achieve my goals.
Having achieved 11A*s at GCSE with some of the highest scores in the country, I was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Top Sixth Form College in the UK and subsequently appeared on BBC's 'Britain's Brainiest School'. Here I devoted myself not only to my studies to achieve my end goal but to humanitarian and advocacy work. I became an esteemed debater, competing nationally- winning 'Best Speaker' at the Welsh Debating Championships and subsequently earning myself a ticket to represent Wales in the World Championships. I did huge amounts of work in developing a national charity network to give tuition to disadvantaged children in Wales, many of whom I resonated with as second-generation migrants struggling with the language barrier.
Before turning 18, I had earned national recognition from PM Theresa May from my work and built up a base of private clients for tuition ranging from KS1 to fellow A-Level students. After 3A*s at A Level and an inspiring essay detailing my work, I was awarded a scholarship from Archbishop Desmond Tutu to pursue my dreams of studying for a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at King's College London where I'm currently loving each and every day getting closer to my goals of changing the world one step at a time. If any part of this story inspires you to think about your own goals, I'd be very excited to have a chat about how we can work to achieve them together!
WHAT DO I PROVIDE:
I specialise largely in helping students gain entry to prestigious independent and grammar schools with a large portfolio of successful entrants with multiple offers to several of their desired schools. Having gone through the process myself and winning multiple scholarships, I'm no doubt best placed to help you and your child secure entry to the schools of your choice. My tuition for common entrance is intense and rigorous with the full intention of helping your child secure entry at their preferred schools. My tuition is focused on making your child a strong all-rounded applicant, with a strong academic score as well as a strong performance at interview (if necessary) and a well laid out and presented application form. This includes personally aiding parents with completing application forms, giving my specialist advice on schools etc outside of normal tuition hours as well as providing interview preparation and rigorous academic preparation as part of the tuition.
My specialist subjects include Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. However, I am adept at teaching other subjects including History and English.
At the ripe age of 20, I'm arguably one of the youngest tutors offering such a specialised service with such a great track record. With rates matching that of highly specialised professors and PHD students, many of my clients ask what sets me apart? All I can say is that my story speaks for itself, I use my experiences to my advantage having only sat the exams a few years ago and experienced the process myself. Having the knowledge is one thing, being able to teach it well is another and being able to inspire is something that only a handful of tutors possess. I'm a friendly, engaging and bubbly tutor with innovative ways of explaining difficult concepts as well as a 'no such thing as a stupid question' policy. Whilst many of my students start out timid and shy, after just a few weeks the difference in their confidence and curiosity is remarkable!

Queena taught my sons both for 11+ Grammar school entry and helped us every step of the way. She was so supportive and so knowledgable and obviously had a profound effect on both of my boys as they eventually went on to study for Common Entrance with her and are now at Emmanuel and Westminster. Speaking from parents that have hired many tutors before her, Queena is the best in the business
Queena has been giving my two sons private piano lessons weekly for 2 years now. They love every lesson with her and are always motivated to practice for their weekly lesson and show her what they’ve practiced over the week. Queena is always punctual, well mannered and ever so talented as she always plays my boys a quick song before she goes! Highly recommend her as a piano tutor.
We tried a few (cheaper) tutors before Queena and my daughter hadn't made much progress at all so we decided to pay the premium after hearing about Queena by word of mouth. Within just a lesson with Queena, my daughter could tell the difference. Queena was incredibly motivating and inspired my daughter to work hard and challenged her every week. Queena worked with my daughter for over a year and she ended up achieving an A* in chemistry. We only wish that we had employed Queena's services in her other subjects too.
Queena tutored my son for his GCSE Mathematics exam last year and was able to take him on at late notice. He was being predicted a C at the time and dreaded lessons. After just two weeks, I could see improvement in my son looking forward to tuition and asking her questions week on week and getting his confidence back in the subject.
Queena took every step to make personal notes for him, write worksheets and hard problems to challenge him every week. He started to love Maths. She even stayed later than the allotted time more than often to make sure that my son had fully understood the material before leaving. Coming up closer to the exam, she took time out to run a course for my son and a few of her other students at no additional cost to prepare them all for their exam.I could not recommend her highly enough as a dedicated tutor that goes above and beyond to help.View more recommendations
