About Marina

I am a classical pianist and piano pedagogue specialising in the Prevention of Occupational Injuries in Pianists. In addition, she has contributed articles to EPTA and ISSTIP journals, as well as holding seminars, masterclasses and workshops on related subjects at various universities and music colleges in London and Cork. Since settling in London in 1989, I have performed solo recitals as well as chamber music and accompanying opera singers in major concert halls across the UK and London, including Regent Hall, St John's at Smith Square, and other music institutions. Further to my performing and teaching career, I am a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Around the Globe Music & Arts and AGPMF Piano Competition and Executive Editor of Around the Globe Music Magazine. As a child prodigy, I won many national piano competitions in former Yugoslavia, followed by tours, and media appearances, which included various TV and Radio Belgrade shows. Furthermore, I was awarded a national grant to study further at the renowned Moscow Music Conservatoire in 1979. My performances were renowned in the British press, including The Times, and I have been listed in the International Who's Who in Music since 1992.

About the lesson

As a Piano Occupational Injury Specialist, I deeply care about the well-being of my students and their enjoyment of playing, including all aspects of the piano performance. When the body and mind are free of tension, I believe we play better and can express our musicality to the fullest extent. With over 35 years of experience in piano education, I developed various teaching methods to help students solve the most challenging virtuoso parts and increase their technical abilities. Your playing can primarily benefit from enhancing concentration and musical memory, learning a more profound understanding of different piano music styles and their various techniques, working on creative listening and thinking, and improving your sight-reading skills. I teach junior and adult pianists, from beginners to highly advanced music professionals. My students have a very high passing rate on various piano examinations in the UK, including LRSM and FRSM diplomas, and they regularly perform, often at piano competitions, with many of them winning awards and prizes.
