About Jenny

Hi! I'm Jenny, an enthusiastic and award-winning pianist who loves helping students discover the joy of music. I have over 10 years of piano experience and hold RCM Level 8 with First Class Honors. Throughout my musical journey, I've earned several awards, including the Steinway Piano Competition Overall Trophy Award and the Musicfest Silver Medal Award. I have even gotten the opportunity to perform in one of New York City's most prestigious venues, Carnegie Hall. Many widely known pianists who have performed there as well include Lang Lang and Yuja Wang.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you're playing piano for fun, preparing for an RCM exam, or hoping to build confidence in your musical abilities, I'll create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and rewarding.

A typical lesson includes warm-ups, technique exercises, repertoire, sight-reading, music theory, and ear training. I focus on developing strong fundamentals while making lessons enjoyable through positive encouragement and achievable goals. Students leave each lesson with personalized practice tips so they can continue making steady progress at home.

My lessons are perfect for beginners and intermediate students of all ages, especially children and teens who want to build confidence and develop a lifelong love of music. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

My Teaching Methodology and Techniques:

I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to match their goals, learning style, and pace. Whether a student wants to play for fun, prepare for RCM exams, or perform confidently, I create personalized lesson plans that keep learning enjoyable and motivating. My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals in technique, rhythm, sight-reading, ear training, and musical expression while encouraging creativity and confidence.

A Typical Lesson:

Each lesson begins with a warm-up to develop finger strength and technique, followed by a review of previously assigned pieces. We then work on new repertoire, learning proper hand position, dynamics, rhythm, and musical interpretation. Depending on the student's level, lessons may also include music theory, sight-reading exercises, ear training, and fun musical games. At the end of each lesson, students receive clear practice goals to help them improve throughout the week.
