About Gina
"I have over 10 years of experience teaching violin and helping students discover the joy of playing at their own pace. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with a specialization in Violin, which has strengthened my understanding of technique, harmony, and musical expression. I enjoy creating a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity.
I specialize in working with adult beginners and returning learners who want to reconnect with the violin. My lessons focus on improvisation and non-classical styles such as jazz, blues, folk, easy classical, and worship music. I use simple exercises, ergonomic positioning, and mindfulness techniques to make learning more comfortable and rewarding.
I believe good technique should feel natural and support personal expression. I once helped a returning violin student rebuild confidence after many years away from the instrument by starting with simple melodies and creative exercises. Seeing their excitement grow reminded me how meaningful it is to help people reconnect with music.
Every student has a unique reason for returning to the violin, and I respect each individual journey. My goal is to help you rediscover the violin with patience, creativity, and confidence. "My teaching approach focuses on creating warm, interactive, and goal-oriented lessons that help violin students grow with confidence. I support learners who want to develop orchestral skills, improve sectional playing, and prepare for youth or community orchestra auditions. Each lesson is designed to build strong technique while developing teamwork and musical awareness.
I teach ensemble blend, following a conductor, orchestral etiquette, managing dynamics, and understanding how each part contributes to the full performance. Students practice score reading and simulated ensemble exercises to experience the feeling of playing in a larger group. This helps them become more prepared and comfortable during rehearsals.
I use collaborative learning methods where students develop listening skills, timing, and communication with other musicians. For example, we may practice a passage from different sections of an orchestral piece to understand balance and musical connection. These activities help students become more confident performers.
My lessons are carefully planned to support steady progress and prepare students for real performance situations. I help each learner improve their musical skills while building the discipline needed for orchestral playing. My goal is to guide you toward confident performances and prepare you for the symphony stage."
