About Tamara

Hi! My name is Tamara, and I’m a Bachelor of Commerce graduate with a passion for helping students build confidence in math. I’m patient, supportive, and dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

I specialize in tutoring primary and middle school students, helping them strengthen their understanding of math concepts through clear, step-by-step explanations and personalized support. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to fit each student’s needs and learning pace.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students grow more confident in themselves over time. My goal is not only to help improve grades, but also to make math feel less stressful and more approachable.

Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about creativity, exercising and personal growth, which helps me connect with students in a supportive and understanding way.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered around patience, encouragement, and helping students truly understand concepts instead of simply memorizing answers. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style based on each student’s pace, strengths, and areas where they may need extra support.

My teaching methodology focuses on breaking math problems down step-by-step in a simple and easy-to-understand way. I guide students through examples together first, then encourage independent practice to build confidence and problem-solving skills. I also use repetition, visual explanations, and real-life examples when helpful to make concepts feel more relatable and less intimidating.

A typical lesson usually begins with reviewing previous material or homework questions, followed by explaining a new concept in a clear and interactive way. We then work through practice questions together before the student tries similar problems independently with guidance and feedback. I also leave time for questions and review to ensure students fully understand the lesson before moving on.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my calm and supportive teaching style. As a Bachelor of Commerce graduate, I bring strong analytical and organizational skills while still creating a comfortable environment where students feel safe asking questions without pressure or judgment. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident and capable in math over time.

My lessons are designed for primary school and middle school students who need support with homework, test preparation, or gaining more confidence in mathematics overall.
