About Andrew
Students wanting to find their voice through the violin are who I support most. You will find that shifting positions and mastering orchestral playing become second nature during our time together. My 11 years of experience and MMus degree from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music guide my approach to ear training and music theory.
Rhythm and timing are foundational, as are bowing techniques like spiccato and staccato bowing. We explore double stops and classical repertoire to ensure a well-rounded musical foundation. It is quite a process.

Hearing a student strike their first perfect note creates a sense of genuine joy in the room. This initial spark is why I focus on building technique without losing the fun of performance.
During 6 sessions, we ground your practice in the fundamentals before moving to the concert stage. My background informs how I break down complex mechanics into manageable steps for your progress. You will find that performing confidently within 1 term is a realistic goal. 10.0 is the dedication rating I bring to helping you reach that stage.
