About Jasmine
I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and have over 10 years of teaching experience. Throughout my teaching career, I have guided students of different ages and backgrounds in music theory, aural skills, and instrumental studies.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching theory is helping students realize that music is not a collection of random rules to memorize. When taught correctly, theory becomes a powerful tool that helps musicians understand what they hear, what they play, and why music works the way it does.
My students include those preparing for ABRSM examinations, school music programs, instrumental studies, worship ministry, and personal enrichment. I strive to make lessons clear, practical, and approachable, helping students build confidence while developing a strong musical foundation.
Whether you are a complete beginner or a student preparing for grade 5 examination, I aim to provide structured guidance, patient support, and a learning experience that helps you succeed in your musical goals.

Music theory is often seen as a difficult and abstract subject, but I believe it becomes much easier when students understand how it connects to real music. Rather than relying on memorisation alone, I help students recognise patterns, understand musical structures, and develop the thinking skills needed to apply theory confidently.
Lessons are tailored to the student's goals, whether that is preparing for ABRSM examinations, strengthening school music studies, improving musicianship, or supporting instrumental performance.
As theory and listening skills are closely connected, lessons may also include aural training such as interval recognition, rhythm work, melodic memory, sight-singing, and listening exercises. These skills help students become more complete musicians and often improve their confidence in performance as well.
A typical lesson lasts 1 hour and may include theory concepts, guided practice, exam techniques, past-year questions, and aural activities where appropriate.
I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to grade 5 examination. Whether your goal is to pass an exam, strengthen your musical foundation, or understand the language of music more deeply, lessons will be adapted to your pace and learning style.

I started my boy on this journey with her, at the age of 4 and now he is 7. I am glad and pleased with the results that she has placed and imprinted, good values, into my son’s future.Jasmine is a very dedicated and detailed violin teacher. Her method of teaching does not push for immediate result and goes by achievable result progressively. Not forget to mention she’s good with teaching kids as well too. Her patience and compliments have always works well in encouraging kid to learn more.
Jasmine has a way making the students engage with her teaching and she makes lessons enjoyable. She understands every student is different and she tailors her teachings according to the student's needs and interests. Her encouragement helps the students to believe in their ability when the practice / techniques get hard. Passionate and dedicated tutor that I highly recommend!
