About Daniela

I have 9 years of experience playing trumpet in concert bands, brass ensembles, orchestras, musicals, Jazz Big bands, and small groups, and especially solo work. I am a student who had private lessons throughout my entire trumpet journey so far, so I understand the importance of having someone there to guide you and make sure you are using proper technique. Although I'm still a student, I am confident I can help you grow as a trumpet player and musician.

About the lesson

These lessons are for beginners who are first picking up their instrument and intermediate players who have hit a wall with their progress. I can help you learn new concepts, solidify your technique, or cover anything you want to learn.

I want to know where you want to go with your trumpet playing. Once we figure out what you want to learn and what you already know, the lesson will start. In the first part of the lesson, we’ll be going over any previously assigned material. I’ll coach you through how you can make it sound better today, guiding you through basic phrasing practices. After that, we will begin talking about technique and trumpet theory; depending on your level and goals, I can expand greatly on your music theory knowledge as well.

I'm an instructor who really likes explaining the "why" behind why we do things. When you understand why certain exercises are given and how they will help your playing, it can encourage you to practice them more diligently. I believe in creating good habits from the beginning, so you will find I put a lot of focus into fundamental training. The trumpet is a very versatile instrument that plays almost every genre of music. I want to know what you want out of your trumpet playing and help you play music that you like to play with a solid and healthy foundation.

Ian is a kid with a lot of potential, right now I'm helping him learn some pieces for an incoming concert. I hope that I'll have the chance continue teaching him so we can talk about fundamental exercises and eventually look at some trumpet solos together.

I charge for my time in the lesson and for your ability to ask me any musical questions outside of our weekly lessons. I typically do 1-hour sessions, but if you would rather do a different arrangement, I will gladly work with you to figure out what works best for us.
