About Luca

Ciao! I’m Luca — a bilingual Italian–English tutor born and raised in a traditional southern Italian family. I grew up in a three-floor building in Calabria where each floor belongs to different family members, including my nonna, who has always been the warm heart of our home. From her I learned the values that define Italian life: hospitality, good food, family closeness, and a sincere love for connecting with others.

Although I’ve lived in Italy most of my life, my mother is a native English speaker, so I was raised speaking both languages from childhood. This bilingual background allows me to explain Italian in a way that feels clear and intuitive for English speakers — I understand your thought process, your challenges, and what makes learning Italian enjoyable and natural.

Many of my American students learn Italian to reconnect with their family roots, understand their grandparents better, or simply feel closer to their heritage. Others learn for travel, culture, or the dream of experiencing Italian life more authentically. I love helping students make that connection.

Outside of teaching, I run a social media page where I share Italian tips, culture, and everyday language. I also organize trips to Italy for travelers, so my lessons often include cultural insights, practical advice, and real expressions that you can use immediately on your next visit.

My goal is simple: to help you feel confident, comfortable, and excited about speaking real Italian — not textbook phrases, but the living language spoken by locals every day.
