About Ivan

I am a graduate from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and I have a BA in Philosophy and Literature, which I got at the prestigious university of La Sorbonne in Paris, as well as an MFA in Drama that I got at LAMDA in London. I have been tutoring in Paris for a few years before I moved to London, to students ranging from early secondary school to university, helping with homework, exams, oral and written comprehension/expression skills, and teaching how to develop a rigorous method and a clear process through the work.

About the lesson

I base my classes either on building from material the student is struggling with or from a syllabus or panel of different exercises I bring to the student once I know what they need to focus on.
I believe that the most important thing is to develop a methodology applicable to any kind of exercise or homework, so that the student can learn how to organise and ease their way through the numerous tasks he has been given.
I found in my own studies that a clarity of purpose and a disciplined process is what creates a pleasant relationship between studying and being creative, learning not only to complete tasks but also to grow as an individual and form an independent way of thinking. There needs to be space for the student to play around and find pleasure and ease through work, otherwise learning becomes a chore and the student becomes resistant to completing their set of skills.
When it comes to studying another language, vocabulary and grammar are the two necessary pillars supporting the learning process, and then comes application through oral skills and being able to hold a conversation/making sense in a foreign language. Games are a very enjoyable and fun way to master a foreign way of communicating.
