About Alley

I have been volunteering in a second grade classroom as a teacher’s assistant, for the last 7 years. I spent 3 years tutoring in college. I tutored general chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular architecture, general biology, genetics, anatomy and physiology, physics, statistics, cell biology, calculus, psychology, exploring the Bible, art and ideas, and so much more! My main focus is in the sciences! I worked an average of 15 hours per week doing that. I also tutored test-taking skills, time management, and study skills on the side (as the tutoring department office assistant). I plan to become a teacher in the future, but am a tennis coach and academic tutor for now.

About the lesson

Proven ability to teach a wide range of subjects across all academic levels, from elementary school to college seniors. Experienced in adapting instruction student-to-student. I personally helped someone to raise a 35% in general chemistry to an 85% across a semester. I have done this with other students and classes, as well! Provide quality one-on-one and small group academic support in various academic subjects, time management and study skills. Tailor lessons to meet individual learning needs and lead students to academic success. Assess strength and areas of improvement for students. Clearly break down complex concepts to assist with homework and exam preparation. I also use real-world scenarios, sports, and concepts to help understand more complex ones. Not only do I know the material confidently, but I help students to feel the same. Effectively, creatively, and patiently communicate to create a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking.
