About Daggie

Hello! My name is Daggie, and I am a dedicated Biomedical Science (MBio) student at the University of Warwick. I am passionate about making complex science accessible, engaging, and achievable for every student.

Academic Background and Legitimacy:
Currently pursuing an integrated Master’s degree, my daily work involves the study of cardiovascular disease, blood disorders, and physiological stress responses. This high-level academic rigour means I do not just teach the what, but the why. I have a deep understanding of the A-level and GCSE specifications, particularly in Biology and Chemistry, and I use my background in laboratory research to bring the curriculum to life with real-world examples.

My Professional Approach:
I understand that every student learns differently. My tutoring style is student-centred and adaptive. I assess a student’s current level in our first session to build a roadmap that targets their specific pain points. I focus heavily on how to answer exam questions to maximise marks, as this is often the difference between a grade B and a grade A. With a background in high-pressure environments, including managing high-volume service at Wembley Stadium, I bring a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a calm, supportive presence to every session.

Beyond the Science:
I am a native speaker of both English and Amharic, and I pride myself on clear, effective communication. In my free time, I am an active member of the Biology Society at Warwick. My goal is to not only help my students pass their exams but to inspire a genuine curiosity for how the human body works.

I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!

As a Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Warwick with 3 A*s in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, my tutoring approach is built on active recall and scaffolded problem solving. I move students away from passive reading and toward high-level application by integrating exam-style practice questions into every session. In Maths and Sciences, I utilise the I-We-You method: I model a complex derivation or calculation, we solve a mid-level problem together to identify common trap areas, and the student then tackles a Grade 8/9 or A challenge independently.

For Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, I focus heavily on the examiner’s eye, teaching students how to use specific keywords and the PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explain, Link) structure to satisfy rigorous mark schemes.

Typical lessons last 60 minutes for GCSE or 90 minutes for A-Level to allow for deep dives into difficult topics like organic mechanisms or statistical significance. Offering a free first lesson for you to be able to see if it works for you or your child.

I am very patient and I am willing to answer any questions they have even if it's 50 times over as I struggled with concepts when I was younger and I understand how to approach this.

Based in Coventry and online, my lessons are specifically designed for ambitious students (Ages 14–18) aiming for top grades and Russell Group university placements, ensuring they don't just understand the theory but can execute it under exam pressure.
